The shapes are all slightly different, but you are able to use the keys on your key board to flip them and rotate them to help make them fit better into the shapes that have already collected below them.

When the game begins the shapes will fall at a slow steady pace. If you get the hang of the game really quickly you might get impatient and wish they were falling faster. In most versions of tetris there is a key you can hit to make the shape drop straight to the bottom when you have it in the right position to fall exactly where you want it.

This might be a fun option to make things more convenient for the first few levels, but as you get past the levels that come first you will soon forget about that option because with each level the speed of the falling shape will increase. The next thing you know you will be struggling to rotate and position the shape before it reaches the bottom. This is where things get really challenging and really fun. Your shapes will start to pile up instead of creating lines and disappearing, so you will have to find ways to redeem your mistakes before the stack reaches the top.
